Starring with Ronn, are his lovable sidekicks, I mean hand puppets! "Scorch the Dragon" - "Buffalo Billy" - "George the Turtle" and his "talking microphone?" They love to steal the show from Ronn! They are so funny that they'll make you fall off your seat, laughing. They are hilarious!

Find out who and what inspired Ronn to become a Ventriloquist. He is so full of surprises. He'll share his heart warming and interesting stories about himself.

The show does have to come to and end sooner or later. But Wait! Ronn will come out and autograph pictures for you and meet you in person! This is the best reward of all. Ronn truly appreciates the people that come to see him and thanks them for making him what he is today!

"Aided and abetted by his puppet co-stars, a green teenage dragon called Scorch and a precocious young cowboy called Buffalo Billy, Lucas serves up a medley of stand-up comedy, voice manipulation and audience interaction that is a 75-minute laughfest."

- Barbara Scherzer, Las Vegas Mercury, Thursday, February 07 2002.

"The entire show has an energetic, optimistic feel that suggests it could become a Las Vegas classic. There was a time however, when bad timing threatened the critical first performances of the show.

Two days after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C., Lucas found himself in the awkward position of performing his first show at the Rio when the world's attention was focused on death and destruction.

So he took a cue from President Abraham Lincoln, who on one of the darkest days of the Civil War, spoke of the importance of humor during turbulent times. Lucas descended from the stage, sat in front of the audience, and quoted the president: "It is good to laugh and share a joke as it clears my mind and better prepares me for the task at hand."

The audience gave him a standing ovation and Lucas continued with the show.

Now more than five months later, with crowd counts continuously improving and positive reviews from some of the toughest local entertainment critics, Lucas is benefitting from betting on talent and being the best at what he does."

"Ronn Lucas is an amazing talent--working with both complex and simple puppets and objects, he often makes us forget that he is really the only one "talking" onstage. In the world of Lucas, it seems as if everything can have a life and a mind of its own. Not only do his puppets talk to him, and talk back to him; so does the microphone, his hand, his foot, and anything else that comes into his proximity.

The really amazing aspect of all of this is that we, the audience, buy it. We give up our sense of disbelief. We forget our saner selves, and for little moments here and there, we believe that these things can talk."

"...He is a first-rate comedian, a master of audience involvement, and the most successful practitioner today of the art of ventriloquism.
...Lucas has raised afternoon shows in Las Vegas to their highest level yet."

- Joe Delaney, Las Vegas Sun, 5th Oct 2001.

"It's easy to see why Lucas is so popular. He's both funny and pleasant, taking time to meet fans, sign autographs and make small talk."

"The evening before the conference ends is always a time for a little relaxation and enjoyment - good food, great friends and superstar entertainment.

This year was no exception, with the entertainment including two great acts! The first was a surprise reappearance of the enormously talented Ron Lucas and Scorch, who demonstrated a singing ability with his rendition of A Teenager in Love.

In a truly unrehearsed segment, Ron also displayed an ability to turn someone in the audience into a "dummy." That surprised person (not by accident, you can be sure) turned out to be none other than IASA's new president, Gary Knoble!

It was obvious that both Gary and the audience truly enjoyed the experience and he received a standing ovation for his rendition of When You're Smiling."

"I also watched big-name vent Ronn Lucas take time out for a little girl in the crowded convention arena to talk to her and do a short impromptu ventriloquist bit, just for her."

"I met Ronn Lucas when he was in this area and also Jay Johnson. Ronn and I formed a friendship and I visited him in Chicago while he was touring with Sugar Babies.
One afternoon there was a knock at my hotel room door. When we opened it there was a flash of fire. That was my introduction to Scorch the teenage dragon."

- Judge Alan Farber

"...very funny, ...technically, he stands alone for his voice-throwing capabilities,
...a hilarious segment is where he turned an audience member into an oversized puppet,
...his artful routine utilizing a sock and his bare hand brought the night to a crowd pleasing
conclusion ...impressive and amazing."

" "So Ronn is no longer called a ventriloquist. Instead he's being called The Man Who Can Make Anything Talk, but everyone knows that's ridiculous.
No one can make me talk if I don't want to."

All that came from a muffled voice inside a mailing envelope Ronn was holding. Ronn spun the envelope and the voice inside went "Aieeeeeee."

Ronn opened the envelope, peeked inside and said, "Are you sure about no one being able to make you talk?"

"Definitely," came the slightly louder voice.

"I see, " Ronn said, removing a large plastic comb from the envelope.

"Thanks, it was really stuffy in there," said the comb, its voice strong and clear. "But I have to reiterate to you the fact that there is no force on the Earth that can make mmmmmmmfmmmfhhh."

The comb found it difficult to enunciate while Ronn was combing his hair.

"Hey, stop doing that to mi-fa-so-la-ti-do.do-ra-mi-fa-so-ls-ti-do."

This time, Ronn was running his thumb along the teeth of the comb, making musical sounds.

"Get your fingers out of my teeth!"

"You're right, of course," Ronn told him, popping the comb back into the envelope and sealing it.
